Fishing boat of Hastings RX16 - woodcut print
I was drawn to the variety and character of the fishing boats moored at Hastings. Each boat has its own individual style,often having been customised, featuring various marks and weathered textures that made drawing them so enjoyable.
I thought it would be interesting to reproduce some of these boats in the medium of a woodcut print, setting them in an expanded composition to include sky and beach.

Intricately carved into mdf board and printed with black oil-based ink

Prints are wrapped in cellophane with mount to keep them flat and packaged in sturdy cardboard
